Lithographs
I have produced a number of lithographs called ‘the brush series’; to date there are seven but I plan to add more. The series explores the movement made by the object when it is used. The marks are made by the object dipped in acrylic paint and painted onto acetate. The household objects are drawn actual size using acrylic paint onto acetate. The acetate allows fluidity of the paint which has a translucent quality when held up to the light. The item is then cut out so that I can play with the composition and interaction of the item with the mark. I have used lithography to create these images because the process retains the marks and textures of the original drawings. I like to print on to Arches paper because I have found that does not absorb the ink and flatten the image. | |
